Bangkok Icon Narai Hotel Returns in Partnership with Hyatt
Historic Silom landmark reimagined as part of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt portfolio, set to reopen in early 2028
BANGKOK, 15 August 2025 – Narai Hospitality Group today announced a collaboration with Hyatt Hotels Corporation to bring back one of Bangkok’s most celebrated landmarks: the iconic Narai Hotel. Set to reopen in early 2028 as part of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, the reimagined Narai will once again embody the creative heartbeat of the city — now redefined for a new generation.
A Legacy Reborn
First opened in 1968 with 500 rooms, Narai Hotel quickly became a cultural landmark, pioneering the Bangkok’s dining scene with the city’s first pizzeria, a revolving restaurant and an introduction to a new world of international cuisines. For decades, the hotel was where generations of families made lasting memories, from wedding celebrations to family gatherings. The Narai Hotel was synonymous with the golden age of Silom, a district that emerged as the cosmopolitan heart of a rapidly evolving Bangkok.
Nearly sixty years later, the new Narai Hotel is set to reclaim its place in Bangkok’s cultural landscape. Conceived as “a kaleidoscope of new life that will illuminate the hearts and minds of the city’s creative souls,” the 245-room property will revive the creative spirit long associated with Silom and celebrate the hotel’s proud traditions in ways that resonate with today’s travelers.
A Shared Philosophy
Narai Hospitality Group chose The Unbound Collection by Hyatt brand to operate the new hotel, renowned for curating properties with unique stories and authentic connections to their communities.
“Narai Hotel has found its perfect home as part of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, a portfolio defined by remarkable stories that can’t be replicated elsewhere,” said Nathee Nithivasin, CEO of Narai Hospitality Group. “Their approach amplifies what makes each property distinctive, perfectly aligning with what we’re trying to achieve with Narai’s return.”
David Udell, group president, Asia Pacific, Hyatt, said “We are honoured to collaborate with Narai Hospitality Group to introduce The Unbound Collection by Hyatt brand in Bangkok. This marks an exciting chapter in our growth in Thailand and the Asia Pacific region. It underscores our commitment to delivering unique luxury experiences that today’s travellers increasingly seek.”

Design and Amenities
Narai Hotel will be one of two new hotels situated within Hatai, an ambitious transformative destination in the heart of Silom brought to life by creative luminaries including Heatherwick Studio, P49, A Work of Substance, and leading Bangkok-based partners. The property’s contemporary elegance will be matched by thoughtful amenities designed for today’s discerning traveller.
Highlights include an all-day dining restaurant on the seventh floor, a rooftop restaurant with commanding views of the Bangkok skyline, a sophisticated lounge, fitness facilities, and an inviting pool. Flexible meeting and event spaces—including a ballroom for larger celebrations–make the hotel an ideal location for business gatherings and social occasions.
With an easy access to Chong Nonsi BTS station and close proximity to office towers, embassies, and the legendary venues along the Chao Phraya River, Narai Hotel will offer an effortless blend of convenience, culture, and connection at the city’s vibrant core for both business and leisure travellers seeking to experience Bangkok’s unique character.
Revitalising Silom
For Silom, a district once the beating heart of Bangkok but long overshadowed by newer areas, Narai’s return signals the start of a new chapter. This partnership not only ensures a significant piece of Bangkok’s history will be preserved, it also brings the first The Unbound Collection by Hyatt to Bangkok, solidifying Silom’s central role in the district’s future.
