Marasca Samui opens its doors
Marasca Hotels & Resorts proudly announces the official opening of Marasca Samui, an exquisite beachfront retreat that beautifully marries contemporary design with sustainable practices.
With 62 thoughtfully designed rooms and suites, situated on the serene shores of Chaweng Beach, Marasca Samui promises a casual luxury escape where every detail is thoughtfully crafted to help you rediscover yourself.
The resort’s offerings include rejuvenating spa treatments at Spa by Marasca, which uses 100% essential oils and natural products, invigorating dips in the pool, and vibrant day-to-night social dining concept at Cabanas Koh Samui beach club.
Marasca Samui’s design pays homage to the natural beauty of Koh Samui. Collaborating with renowned architects and designers, the resort ensures that the resort provides an authentic experience for its guests to experience Samui’s beauty.
The resort’s design brought together SODA, K-Studio, and Studio Qube to create a luxurious, relaxed atmosphere, and harmonious aesthetic using local materials.
Sustainability sits firmly at the heart of the Marasca proposition.
The resort proudly holds the distinction of being the first ASEAN hotel to receive FitWel Design Certification while also being on track to become LEED certified. Marasca Samui’s holistic approach to sustainability focuses on energy consumption management, eco-friendly initiatives, and promoting the wellbeing of its guests and employees.
The design aesthetic and artwork in the resort seeks to further this focus on environmental and community sustainability by showcasing artwork from talented artists across Thailand under the theme “Wisdom of the Sea.”
This exhibition intertwines the beauty of marine life with the rich cultural traditions of the southern community, raising awareness about the environmental impact of plastic and microplastic waste on marine ecosystems.
This theme continues by integrating traditional arts from the southern part of Thailand into the resort’s spaces. Chatkanok Khunton, a natural tie-dye and batik artist from Kiree Village, Nakhon Si Thammarat, creates exquisite fabrics using plant-based dyes and by preserving ancestral dyeing techniques. Her highlighted artwork, “Blooming Sea,” features vibrant batik and tie-dye fabrics that depict underwater life and coral, reflecting the vivid colours of the sea.
